Just got an 07 C6 and in Toronto you don't see many. I have had two opportunities where I have passed other Vet owners (one a C5 the other a C6) waved to them and both times I got the Vulcan death stare.
I can get that look from my wife anytime I want at home (without even moving). I figured on a little more of a friendly reply from the faithfull.
WTF? am I being gay acknowledging some local members of the fraternatiy or are they just being dicks.
Maybe next time I'll just wave with one finger.
Is there a secret handshake the dealer forgot to tell me when I picked up the car? Maybe they thought I borrowed or rented it.

The wave is pretty much dead. And BTW, I think Moosehead is a great beer.
It a shame. Seemed 10-15 years ago I got a return wave a good 9 of 10 times I'd see a fellow Corvette.
I've had my C6 now since May and I think I get MAYBE 1 of 10. Guess I'll be that one fool that actually waves back when I meet the other 10% of the Corvette populous that returns the acknowledgement.
I have driven a Corvette since 1966. I have noticed a significant decline in returned waves. This may be due a great influx of newbies. I don't know whats up, but I don't like it. I will continue to wave but will start following it up with the finger if I don't get an immediate response. Maybe people will then begin to wonder what they did wrong. Help save the wave!!!!

I wave to all Vettes!
(I even wave to other sports cars) - Including Mustangs GASP!
I get more waves back from the other sports cars than the Vettes. Sign of the times I guess.
It's an American thing, you wouldn't understand ..............Sorry, just kidding, you will need to help our Canadian brothers learn Vetticate, maybe if you held up a Molsons while waving

I say it ain't so....it's not 100% of the time but around my part of the world, a majority of passing Vettes will wave. Hell, I even had a nice Porsche wave at me at the other day...blew me away!
On average, I am recieving a wave from other vette owners about 75% of the time. It may just be where I live, but I was driving through the town next to me the other day, and there were 3 C6's all lined up at a stop light! Both were black, one a coupe and one a vert...I was in the middle of the 3. As soon as i pulled up behind the first guy, he immediatly stuck his hand up and beeped. He was probably in his 40s or 50s.
It was wierd when the black coupe showed up behind me. I swear I didn't see him coming so maybe he decided to make a change in direction when he saw the two of us at a light. He came around the corner, and before he turned so I could see the front of the car he was beeping and waving like a mad man! Everyone was starring, and It was a good kind of stare . He was in his late 20s early 30s and definatly happy!
I get a fair amt of waves down here...but don't take it personally - they may not know about the wave. However, if enough people w/ vettes wave at them, they'll figure it out.
. . .sometimes people just get caught up in life and don't see you as well...it's a busy world out there
I 'd at three and got one wave back. Never give up, never surrender! I'll keep on wavin, just my nature. Now on the bike I get 99% waves back. Hum....
We travel quite a bit and it seems to me alot of people do not even look over as you meet them. Maybe they are paying attention to the road.(yea right) When I meet at a intersection people seem to be more likely to wave. Maybe there are not as many CAR GUYS OR GALS as there used to be. I know why young people don't wave, their seats are layed back so far all they see is the roof of their cars. Never give up. Save the Wave!!!!!!
I just came accross this list of Corvette commandments and it is #1.
For those sinners who do not wave there is still time to repent and get to Bowling Green Heaven with 72 virgin Vette's of your choosing to drive, oh yea if you still have energy left over you still get your regular 72 virgins as well.
