EJECT..EJECT...EJECT...shocks non functional message?
So I take a hard right turn the other day and smack in the middle of the apex I get the dashboard go nuts on me: "SHOCKS NON FUNCTIONAL" followed by the infamous "SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING" while it shut the fuel to the engine and put itself in 2nd gear....all while unlocking the doors and beeping like crazy....
Wel in the 2 seconds it took my brain to register what the fu... happened I swear my hand was going down to the emergency door release handle as I swear I kept hearing EJECT EJECT EJECT...
Needless to say I pulled over, shut the car down, immediately restarted and of course no problems... I doubt shocks arent working as I could tell that without the computer...I suspect its the steering harness TSB and will take it in.... I just found it amusing that the car would unlock the doors in limp mode....
I did scare the hell out of a jogger... the road I turned to was 4 lanes wide... I think he ran into the bushes when he saw my car swearving and slamming on the brakes and gunning it erraticaly while I was testing the shocks....
Anyways now that Ive rambled for too long I guess the question I have for all those who have had the active handling message come on was did it show up WHILE driving and did your cars go into limp mode? Just want to see if what I experienced was due to harness or a real issue
I just had the service active handleing message and ABS light come on. I took it to the dealership and they took the panel off the steering column removed the plug cleaned it and put it back together and placed a zip tie around it from coming loose. More than likey it could be what it wrong with yours as well. I've got the message just after taking a sharp turn. All fixed now.
