Default NAV help please

I used the NAV to get to a destination tonight. When I got in the general vicinity I knew where I was and proceeded to go my own way. The NAV kept barking out orders. How do you make it stop (turn it off) when you don't want to take it's directions anymore???

Easy. Touch screen. On the bottom you will get a message "Chg. route" Touch that and it will say "Cancel Guidance?" Touch "Yes" and it will shut off.

You need to tell it to cancel guidance. I believe it is (from the map screen)

Click on Menu (lower left)
Click on Route options
Click on Cancel guidance (lower right)

Two nice things about this setup:

1.It's all along the bottom of the screen so you don't have to move around a lot to push the "buttons"

2.You're allowed to do this while moving

And yeah, you COULD use the voice command, but I guess I'm a "hands-on" kinda guy
