Default War to Delay C6 Rollout???

The future does not look good. With a major war looming I think "excesses" will fall by the wayside. Our priorities are forever changed IMO. :(

I am eagerly awaiting the C6 myself but look at it this way, at least we have a Vette in in our garages now.

Corvette has survied other wartime stuggles, no reason why it should'nt now. We are not going to WAR people. The operations will be war like at times. But will focus on covert and special forces type operations. If they reinstate the draft. Then start worrying.

I agree this will be a on going small battles. Things will seem more like normal after the first of the year.

War on Terrorism? Huh! Its not that simple. And it will be much more difficult should Pakistan's President be taken out. Then you have a country with no leader, inevitable civil disarray, Osama as a next door neighbor along with some serious Nuclear Capability.

Should OSAMA be chosen as a country leader of some sort. we'll then be faced with trying to to convince most of the Islamic World that the WAR is not a war on Islam.

We should continue to gather info on the cells, tighten up security as well, but taking him out in my mind is a priority. If we don't then in a couple of years from now we may not even have gas to put in our vettes, or God forbid worse.

I don't see that as an issue. I believe there to be plenty of oil in our own neighborhood. We just have to find cheaper ways to retrieve it. With some effort, we should be able to find enough reserves off our own coasts.

OK, I would agree with the gas reserves part (although we should start digging now) but there's also the "worse part

If the economy is in recession and Vette sales are poor, funds for the C6 may be slow in coming. I think it's a definitely possibility this could delay the C6 introduction....

The C5 saved the Corvette, times were right, the stock market was high and a lot of excess cash around. Now the C5's are selling slow, no way will the General enjoy the same success with the C6. They just may hold off until times get better, remember the C5 was delayed.

If GM delays the C6 rollout, they will commit a huge blunder! Other makes will continue with their plans and GM will miss out on people lining to buy America's Sports Car in a wave of patriotism.

I heard that Bob Lutz told the Y body group "we can do better" and sent them back to the design boards in search of a truely exciting C6 design. Rumor....has it that the C6 will be delayed one year or more with the stylining change.

Just rumor ;)
