But having a friend with a hyper-pimped out ride, going out drinking and carousing. SH*T is way more likely to happen when those sort of young male egos interact, don't you think?
Maybe. I'm a big believer in statistics applied to life, so I won't argue with that. Then again, some nasty old man at the nursing home could key your ride, you could get killed in your friend's piddly little Prius, or you could get run over by a bus turning into the nursing home to visit your relative. The safest thing would be to never go outside and just keep your car in the garage in one of those inflatable bubbles. There's a happy medium there somewhere, but each of us will shift that more to fit our own lifestyle. Simply put, I don't think going out for a few drinks and some dancing is asking for your C6 to get vandalized! Does it increase the percentage of that happening from .22% to .48%? Maybe. But that's life.
I just look at this way as whom ever done this is evil. How could you try to destroy something beautiful? Its not like it was a bucket, it is a corvette one of the exotics cars on the roads, IMO.

Your right my friends and I arent the average friends so maybe we were just targeted as the ones to be messed with. Just cant have nice things anymore.
I know how you feel. I'm the same way, but sooner or later, I get tired of it and just say f-it. It's probably better to drive it all the time and risk it. It might be better to drive it 150 times and get it keyed once than letting it sit in the garage while you take the beater 148 of those times. When I found myself taking the beater 95% of the time and realized that the Vette sat in the garage when I really wanted to take it, I had to do a bit of recalibration! Now I take it more and just keep the thought in the back of my mind that if it gets damaged, I'll get it fixed or get another one. The car was meant to be driven and if you let it sit in the garage, you let the idiot door dingers and vandals run your life!

There's no nice or easy answer to any of this unfortunate happening.
Too bad the poster didn't know about the previous Escalade vandalism.
It's odd that this little tid-bit wasn't already shared knowledge, seeing as a friend will be parking his new Z06 out front...
I had the same thing happen to me when I bought a 2001 Lexus Is300. They ran up the hood and jumped on the roof past the moonroof, slashed 1 tire. The hood had to be replaced and painted etc. People that do that will have it come back to them.
If caught send them to the electric chair or give them a good caning. Remember the kid who was caught in some Asian country a few years ago? Singapore I think. He vandalized cars and his punishment was public caning.
Sorry to hear about your car - I hear that bastages who deface vettes go to the 6th ring of Hell according to Dante, so chin up. Its times like this that the justice system in Singapore seems to have some merit - you damage some property with spray paint, they publically cane your sorry a$$ - gets the point across - in your case the local PD seems to have the "we're too busy to care" attitude and that is one reason why I am glad I live in a small town with a large police force for its population - though they won't cane the perps our cops would at least investigate it.
Wow I'm really sorry to hear this. Just reading what happened to you put a knot in my stomach. It's sad that some folks are so insecure that they must destroy others property to make themselves feel more powerful.
I hope everything gets taken care of with your insurance.
