city, state, and street OK. i go to enter the number.
screen displays: [1000-18099]:
so far so good. numbers up to 5 digits. i enter: 1780_
but before i can enter the last digit, the number keypad grays out and i can't enter the final "1". wtf?
anybody else have this happen? any workaround?

I had this happen when I was going to see my daughter. Not sure what happens, just does not seem to have that street number stored in the data base.
I just got as close as I could then I moved the cursor with my finger to the correct spot. I realize if you do not know where to move the cursor this technique does not work.
You can go into yahoo maps or something like that and get a map, then select destination from the map.
Nope... every addressed I've punched in has worked so far. It's taken me over some roads I didn't know existed which was fun when out cruising around...... I have a Garmin in another vehicle and the vette nav has matched it just fine.
I wonder if we polled owners with Nav if they could do it again, would they spend $1800 on the Vette nav or spend $500 for a portable Garmin that you can use in your winter car as well???

I would. I need the BIGGER screen else I'd need to wear my reading glasses while driving to see the text on the small 3.5 or 4" screens.
Plus I like the HUD integration and when I'm on the road with the stereo CRANKED I like how the system lowers the volume so I can hear the NAV voice commands. Too many short comings for me to make the portable systems worth while.

Mine works (05 w/Ver-1 DVD), but I get different street number range, mine says [1700-18099]. The NAV gives me two options for streets: Main or S. Main
If I enter S.Main it does not allow street numbers, if I select just Main St. it does.
Perhaps it's a bug in the DVD database, is yours a Ver-2 or 3?

I'd order it again in a flash. In previous cars I've had an AVIC and Kenwood touch screens. The one in the Vett keeps up with both. The big plus for me is that all the directions come up on the HUD. Most times I just shut down the voice prompts and navagate by the directions on the HUD.

thanks lowlead. i selected Main St. amazing your V1 works and my V3 doesn't. want my old V2?
With v3, for this address my unit does not allow number entries beyond the 4th digit. It is likely a database or software programming issue. Report it to Teleatlas using the site referenced above.

i did! for my wife. clearly a better unit. but i wouldn't trade it for the vette's factory integrated unit. don't want dangling wires, mounting bracket, suction cup, etc. i like my vette clean.
From: Muncie, Indiana ...... Can I buy an amplifier on time ... I ani't got no money now but I'll pay you before I die

I don't know about $1800. For the 05s the Nav was $1400. Maybe that's why we don't get the two upgrades.

Yep I was in a friend's Jeep SUV which had their NAV system. I'll take ours anyday. Not user friendly and way to many steps with switches to accomplish the same functions we have with a touch screen. Besides, the interface with the HUD is way to cool.
I like the NAV and will buy it again. It takes some time to learn all of its quirks but overall I'm very pleased. I find it is most accurate in cities, where I need it most. On several occasions "she" has told me to make a left in the middle of a bridge or overpass but that is usually in rural areas.
