I had ordered the newly announced Clifford Intelliguard 990 system back in January. They kept pushing the release date back, until I finally got a refund my my mobile electronics dealer last week. Clifford claims to be shipping this coming January, and had no explanation why a system that supposedly won 3 awards at the last CES hasn't been released yet.

This system has all the bells and whistles, including: 1 mile/2 way remote, built-in shock/tilt/perimeter (for wheel thiefs, tow-aways, etc.). I have no intention of integrating it with any of the cars systems - just some additional stand-alone security...

With all my upgrades (stereo & mods amounting to almost $30K) that my insurance WON'T cover, $700 for a top of the line security system would be some added piece of mind.

I wouldn't even want the siren - just let the remote go off - THEN use the S&W .40 for intruder repulsion...

As someone who has had a CCW since 21 years of age and who is licensed to carry in over 30 states (resident, non-resident, and reciprocity) but rarely speaks of it, all I can say is there sure are a lot of Dirty Harry's on this board....

I know of that alarm system by Clifford it's a good one that covers everything. I wouldn't mix that into the Corvette system keep them separate. So if something does go wrong it won't be as much trouble hopefully.
