Have had my C6 for over two year now. Has anyone gotten a new disk for the dvd navagation system. I have had it send me to a wrong location and am wondering if there is a more current map dvd and how much it will cost and how do you go about getting it.
They are up to Version 3.0 now. Your 2005 has Version 1.0 so there have been changes. The changes may or may not have updated your area. Cost of the new Nav disc is around $200.
1.0 was junk, the 2.0 is upgraded junk. Streets that have been there for 15 years aren't on either version. Or the street will be there but the address sequence can't be entered. Chevy should be paying me for all the time lost and the aggravation of trying to use this worthless Nav. system.
I just got the new 3.0 upgrade last week and all is well. New roads are included and new stores are shown as they should be. I do like the interface better on my 05 Denali but I only have 1300 mile on the vette.

Yup, I just received my first free update (Ver 3.0) a few days ago. I called the GM Nav Center and asked they send the new DVD early (my one year anniversary is March 07). You can call them at 877-628-3472 or visit their web site at http://www.gmnavdisc.com
I have noticed some improvements in graphics along with more current/complete street data.
I'm going to run both DVD's over the weekend and try and capture some of the main differences between the two. As I said the graphics are improved in how grass, water or mall parking lots are displayed.
Some POI's that I couldn't find in Ver 2.0 now display. Maybe GM designed the system to allow it to function and look better with each new DVD, vs a major hardware upgrade. That would be nice.
The 2.0 I got from you is better than the 1.0 but it's still garbage. At least the 2.0 recognizes the Parmer/Mopac intersection that the 1.0 ignored.
Wonder how many versions before the Toll roads/45 will show correctly? 183N has been 2 levels w/limited access for over 10 years and the Nav still thinks most of it's a surface street. the Nav voice tells me to make a U-turn at 70MPH when I'm on A LIMITED ACCESS ELEVATED FREEWAY? All it's good for is a laugh.
Thanks. It has gotten me lost several times, so anything has to be better then that. It left me in the middle of a cow pasture because the system did not know that the road stopped and then started on the other side of a farm. Figure that one out.
