I realize that the thread about the Z06 burning has been locked a couple of times, but the incident raises a question: How many of you carry a fire extingushier and where do you put it?
Well, if you want available to you in the passenger compartment, there are not many places left. You could mount it in the hatch area, but that's precious time wasted while your baby is burning.

Don't have a hatch In my C5, I mounted it just behind the seat area - easy to reach. There are a couple of cubbys behind the seats in the Vert - I'm checking that out

I have had a fire extinguisher in my 1984 C-10, with the side-saddle fuel tanks, ever since NBC News faked the impact and fire tests in 1991. Never had to use it.
In my C6 it fits behind the driver's seat, which I have scooted forward a bit due to my short legs.
The fire extinguisher is more for OTHER cars that I may come upon on fire. If mine is burning, I will not be hanging around to retrieve the extinguisher; I will be putting space between me and the fire as fast as possible.
Insurance sure won't cover all the stuff I've done to this car, so I carry an extinguisher on a mount in front of the passenger seat for a little piece of mind...
I can't see why an extinguisher can't be located under the waterfall in a C6 vert. There's a bit of room back there between the speakers. Not the most convenient place for retrieval, but there is room for one.

Actually, I carry one on road trips but not when driving in town. I've got several fire extinguishers....I think I'll look to mount one and carry it 24/7. I like C5grandsport's solution in front of the passenger's seat.
Thanks for posting this....it's a good safety reminder.
(My Father passed-away a few years ago. He was a believer in carrying a fire extinguisher...it's a good idea and will make him happy).
My small halon exting would fit in a rear compartment of my C5 but not in the C6, so I'm not carrying it.
BTW, dry chemical is much more effective than halon but the chemical is both highly damaging to electrical components and highly abrasive if it it gets in your engine. Our local racing store quit carrying dry chem after the owner used one on a buddy's Porsche; engine needed a rebuild.
