dark_phantom,

Actually, we have set the A4 and A6 tranny vehicles we have done with the APS kits at no MORE than 6 psi which was more than enough power to remain safe, yet with plenty of power. I drove all of them and they all put down at least 500 rwhp! They all turned out great!

We felt that 9 psi was too much for the automatics to handle unless they had built up trans work, a good TC and maybe even 3.42 gears so that they can really handle and make the most of the the added boost.

We didn't want to experiment and make our customers guinea pigs by putting that much boost through stock automatic transmissions.

Shawn,

Thanks for the clarification, I got confused and thought it was set to 9. Makes sense and has enough power, it makes me feel better.

But I'm still hoping that RPM can get us an upgraded transmission. It won't be long before I get an APS kit myself.

It’s quite another however to build several thousand of them and have to warranty them

It will be interesting to hear what the problem was…
He's putting quite a bit more HP down at the rear wheels than a stock Z06. Maybe one day when they get the A6 a little more refined, they'll make a Z06 available with the A6. There's no way with the traffic and my knees that I ever want to deal with clutching.
I too will be interested to here the outcome.

With that kind of power all weak links need to be addressed.

Mine does this on the 1-2 sometimes (stock stock tune) sounds like it hits the limiter b4 it shifts, hoping a tune will fix it.

I took the car to RPM transmissions in Indiana today. Met with Rodney and Todd; toured the shop and had alot of good conversation. They are both very professional and I know I am leaving my car in good hands. They will go over the transmission and differential; they will upgrade the items needed to handle the power. Rodney said they will take pictures and document the upgrades when they finish. So I will update this thread when we have more information.

Default Rev Matching

I have a new 2007 A6. The dealer promoted the idea that the car matches revs on downshifts. Now that I have the car, I find that the best it does is drag the engine up on the torque converter. I also have an Infiniti M45 and a BWM 750Li and they both actually blip the throttle to match, so I was expecting the same with the new Vette.
Is my car operating correctly?

i had an 05 BMW 530i with a six-speed auto, the BMW tranny and the GM six-speed transmission are no way close....im not saying one is better than the other i didnt have this BMW long enough to tell but they shift and act totally different (personal preference?).

I guess I was kinda expecting an F430 rev and match. But it appears no blip is the order of the day!

Now you know why GM doesn't offer the A6 on the ZO6.

Yah, I really wish I had gotten the manual. I see guys talking about how fast it shifts, but mine really doesn't shift that quickly, especially with the traction control on.

I have been wondering about max hp power and torque with the A6, I think you are at edge and feeling the pain, but no gain. Its like diff blowing out on a LFelter in one of the mag article with DR's. Hopefully, more people will start reporting more of these problems at the limit of HP and TQ. Good luck with better results, I think there has been talk about 580 ft lbs of torque max on the A6.

Maybe, but it sure ain't quicker/faster in stock trim.

My A6 has been flawlessly reliable by the way.
