C6 problems
- excessive oil consumption
- leaking final drive
- repeated fuel sensor failures
- no steering lock failures, though
I am considering getting a C6, and wanted to know what sorts of problems (if any) these cars have. So, is there a list of problems? Any of the same problems as the C5?
thanks,
Dan

A lot of peo ple told me that most of the problems with the 2006 C6 have been resolved and the 2007 C6seemed to pretty trouble free so I purchased a Black C6 "07. I HAVE NO REGRETS. You will be so impressed with the way the C6 handles
and how quiet it is with the windows up it 's a whole new concept in CORVETTES. GO FOR IT and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!
2003 ZO6 that I got new and had a the rear end leak and power seat went out.
Now I have 2005 6pd Coupe Victory Red w/ red interior and with every option you could check off on and only problems have been the rear end had to have fluid change per service bulletin and the top was replaced.
Never use the painted top as I keep the transparent top in all of the time.
With all the horror stories I hear about the 05-06 Corvettes it would make you wonder why anyone would want to own one if these !
But, I will have to say my 05 is the best driving Corvette I have ever had. Very comfortible, great fuel mileage, plenty of power although it is getting time to add headers, heads, and a cam.
I have no regrets on buying this C6 and would recommend anyone thinking about moving up to do so.

Like any car, the C6 can have problems. Although you tend to read much more about the problems on this forum (which is natural), I believe the vast majority have had few, if any, significant problems. Even for those people that have experienced problems, I'll wager few if any would want to sell their C6 and purchase something else.
By far the most widely publicized issue was the 'delaminating' roof panel. This was a non-issue for me. I had some minor stress noise coming from the roof when going-over uneven terrain at slow speed. The roof panel was replaced under warranty and everything appears to be fine. The newly designed (SMC) roof panel is now used.
I have a 2005 C6 coupe which was delivered on 3 March 2005. Other than the inconvenience of having the roof panel replaced, my car has been virtually trouble-free. Even after replacing the excellent stock engine with the Lingenfelter 403 motor (plus other modifications), I have not experienced any problems.
In my experience, the C6 is an excellent vehicle....mechanically reliable and providing an unparalleled 'thrill factor.'
