Range: 528 miles!
(Side note: there was a note earlier today about C6 windshields being whimpy. We took some MAJOR shots off tumbleweed with a closing rate of well over 100 MPH. The large economy sized version of those buggers have major-league trunks. Most of the little ones just disintegrate but the big ones are a different story. I feared for the windshield but it's unmarked. NOT whimpy. Rocks: that's a different story. If you want wimpy windshield you get one like the one in our Honda Element which pits and cracks if you look at it wrong.)
We're getting 26.7 MPG as an average for the trip since we picked up the car.
Yesterday we drove from Santa Fe to Black Canyon City, AZ. All I-40 and I-17 with speeds averaging 80 out there on the slab. Well, make that closer to 85. Heck, the TRUCKS are averaging 80 and the biggest challenge was timing our approaches so the racing cowboys didn't hold us up too long.
So the last 90 miles is a long descent from 7000 feet at Flagstaff, descending the Mogollon Rim down to 2000 feet. Decent highway, traffic wasn't bad it was darn near coasting the whole way.
When I filled up the DIC range computation was 528 miles! Ha! That was a kick.
Monterey Red must have a zillion different shades. We ate lunch at La Provada in Winslow, AZ (darn decent food and not outlandishly priced). Approaching the car from behind, the sun coming from the side, she was very dark, almost a maroon. But at the rest stop on I-17 near Sedona with the sun head on this wonderful deep rich red. It does a wonderful job of bringing out the car's complex curves.
Oh yeah, we DO love this machine.
What made it even better was the fact that you drove right through my home town, so I know all about Sedona and Flagstaff and Black Canyon City. I'm very familiar with that stretch of highway.

Of course, I'm out in Southern California now, but I still get out that direction to visit family occasionally!
I have yet to make the trek from here back out there in the Vette, so I've no idea what kind of milage I'm going to get, but if it's anything like this, I'll be more than pleased.
I had an 05 coupe and it got great miles to the gallon as well, but I know this my 06 z51 vert will not get the same mileage, if I am lucky maybe 400 miles on a trip.
I love it though
I can identify with the ever-changing appearance of the paint. I have Mag Red and it's very chameleon-like...sometimes it appears quite dark but in the sunshine it really flashes and comes-alive.
As for the so-called "wimpy" windshields, I think of those flying rocks as a 'bullet.' IMO it's amazing windshield damage isn't more severe. I've had many direct hits and only suffered one serious enough to have repaired. I do carry full glass coverage so a damaged windshield can be repaired or replaced without charge.
snStarter....thanks for sharing your experience.

On a Callaway SC560 convertible (Paddle) automatic, I saw 521 (DTE) on the display after a weekend of autocrossing, etc. on a run from BG to VA - the new Corvettes are amazing
I have an 07 MR as well. Can I ask how is your clearcoat? I am experiencing very soft, scratchable coating. Looking at my 03 Envoy sitting next to it with a diamond hard CC, I wonder how this is going to hold up as a daily driver.
