Mine always pops but not enough to get fingers under. Seems the solution in another thread was lubrication.

Yes...
I lubed the rubber around the trunk lid with a silicone lube.
Works great now.

My problem is that regardless of the method I use (Fob, Interior release or exterior button at rear) the trunk does not release without multiple attempts and then it is a struggle to have enough clearance to get my fingers under the lid to lift it.

I have tried adjusting the ***** on the outer edge of the trunk lid but those seem to be only for alignment. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks
LOL, mine does the same thing.

Default Update so far on problem

Went to a dealers showroom today (different one from mine) to see if the verts they had suffer from the same problem. I explained the problem to the salesman and he was more than ageeable to give theirs a try and see what happens. Suffice it to say their 07 had the same problem only worse, the lid only came up about 1/4 inch, barely enough to get the tips of my fingers under it. The salesman was surprised and agreed that this was not acceptable. We went inside and tried a coupe and the results were markedly different. The hatch actually popped up about 1 3/4 of an inch to 2 inches. This was the perfect amount to get your hand underneath to lift it. He asked a couple of other guys that were there and they were unaware of the problem. It was late in the day and the Service manager was gone so we couldn't ask him for any suggestions. I'll try him tomorrow by phone. The final suggestion was to take it to a body shop and have them adjust the lid.
I know of a very good body shop in town, not sure if they do much Vette work, but it might be worth talking to them.

I'll keep you posted

Same problem here on a 2007. The trunk lid won't open and the ash tray won't stay closed. If they could only reverse the problem.

Adjust the bumpers and lube the seal. The lid will pop right up. Did this to mine and no issues for the past year.

We had an 06 and it popped up fine, our 07 only comes up half as well, not good at all. Sometimes it won't even unlatch unless you press it a full second or go for a second push. I lubed the seal, no luck there, I tried raising the bumpers, even a full turn wouldn't pop it fully, and only took 1/4 turn to mis-align the lid

Maybe someone with an 06 or 07 that pops well can try this out for me. Open the lid and **** the latch closed with the end of a stick or pencil. Hold the pencil on the latch to check return strength while hitting the release button. Our 07 feels like only a few ounces, enough to get out of it's own way only It seems to me the spring in the latch needs to be stronger to even try to lift the lid.

Also do the trunk lid shocks only give a nice lift action the last foot of travel, or does it start sooner ?

Thanks for any more insight or repair results
