How long does it take for the obsession to go away. I am ashamed to
say that most of the day today (Thanksgiving) with family, I kept
daydreaming about getting home so I could go ride in the C6 and
listen to the new exhaust. I REALLY need to get a life and convince
myself that "it's just a car" - it's WAY down on the list of what's really
important in life. Thanks for letting me scold myself in front of others
that MAY be feeling the same (hopefully, not many)! :o
My obsession never went away. Started in '53 before I could drive. Finally bought a '68 brand new. Sold it in '70. Life went on but the obsession remained. I'll have an '07 in a few weeks, still obsessed and I love it.
With me, it's not an obsession in a negative sense....it's more of a passion in a positive sense.
So what if I now eat and sleep in the garage.
But seriously....if the time and money I spend on the Corvette was adversely affecting my family or my other responsibilities, then I would be obsessed.

yeah...i could get over this pretty easy if i hadnt added the bullets and headers and psport2s and other stuff. its just wayyyyyyyy too beasty now to look at anything else. save a C6 Z06.
The obsession is even worse for non C6 owners! I want one so bad!!
Not a day goes by that I'm not checking the Auto Trader site for used C6s, or the GM Canada site to see what new 07s have shown up in local dealer inventory.
But unless I win the lottery, I won't be getting a C6 for about two more years, possibly even three.
My obsession started in 2001 when I was driving by my local dealership and saw a silver/black C5 coupe. I asked my (ex)wife about it, she said," if you want it, get it". It was in my garage the next weekend- obsession lives.
5 years later, a couple years after dumping the wife, I see a Monty red coupe, obession revives, the next weekend it's in my garage.
Is there a pattern here? Unless I go crazy again, this C6 will probably be my last Vette because it does so many things to my total satisfaction- power, ride, quality, economy. Then again, if I drive by a dealership with a C7...
