code scanner choices ?
Want to purchase a code scanner today,any suggestions? Will be doing mods down the road, Headers, heads, cam. Want a scanner that will not only read the code, but will be able to turn off the check engine light etc. Any brand stand out more than another ?

You can buy a cheap one at Walmart, Innova Model 3030 fo about $70. I have the AutoXray Model 4000. Both can read an erase codes but the AutoXray with the GM enhancement program does a lot more. About $300. Check AutoXrays site. But check prices from various sources.

I've got the Innova 3100c code scanner and I like it. It's their mid-range model. You can turn off CELs and you can update it via the interweb, etc., etc. More info at:
