Got mine from Pipedreams, great deal. Don't notice them at all.

I've had the Altec on mine for about a year now. Great product and looks good but they are so strong I'm afraid of them. I've hit the front ones on speedbumps twice and I'm afraid it's going to damage the fender. I think I'll give Pipedreams a try.

I take them off in the summer because of the simplicity of the install, it only takes me 5 minutes to do the on/off. I'd rather not think that some dirt maybe trapped behind them hurting the paint all summer from the winter debris, so they're only on for 6 months.

I had the same thoughts about the paint behind, so I put some electrical tape down first

Nope!

That's a whole different problem.

Ordered set last week, got them yesterday! Will install this weekend. Biggest problem I've noticed is the black flecks that get kicked up. I think the oily flecks are actually from the tire dressing I use - hopefully not tiny bits of rubber because I don't drive that agressively. Thanks Ed for another good product. Probably will go for battery cover next.

Default Z06 mud guards

Check out the threads on installing Z06 mud guards on your rear. A bit more work, but the look can't be beat.

I can't recommend Pipedreams splash guards enough. They are easy to install, work great, and are very hard to see on the car.

Ed's (Pipedreams) splash guards. Easy installation and hardly noticeable.

Dont really like the look of splash guards -they are more obvious on my Machine Silver car (hey Pipedreams...how about body colored splash guards?) Would pay double the price for those!) but are a neccessity for winter driving.

I had mine painted the body color (Mag Red), and I think they look great.

How is the paint holding up? Sounds like it would work OK in sunny climates but not sure in rainy/cold/wimter climates.

this is NOT a shot at pipedreams guards but for those that don't like them it seems like some clear-bra material could be installed in the affected areas. just a thought.

Ah yes, from Mid America Motoworks-Cleartastic Paint Protection Kit, 8 piece : $69.99

"Protect your expensive paint finish from flying rocks and damaging debris while driving, and keep your C6 Corvette's original luster with CLEARTASTIC, a clear, thin film pre-cut to lay flush against your delicate paint surface. This kit protects behind the front and rear wheels as well as the lower rocker panel in front of the rear wheel. Simple clean and press-on application, peel to remove/reuse."
