Hardtop Convertible?
Is there any chance of a hardtop vert in the near future? I posed this question in the c7 forum but received nary a reply.

C7 not invented yet. That may explain why you got such a poor response.

Not unless you want to be completely trunkless.

I hope not.
Real sports cars don't come in hardtop convertible form. Too heavy.

Is there a chance of a hardtop convertible.....absolutely! Slim and none.
There is likely an after-market conversion available but you will lose all that storage space presently occupied by your golf clubs.

There was an ad on page 100 of "Corvette Magazine" by a company called Smooth Line who apparently make an aftermarket top for the C5 and indicate in their ad that a C6 removable top is coming soon. It's already shown in several photos on their web site. No price listed.

Not necessary on the Corvette C6 - the soft top is quiet and well sealed, and easy to put up and down in manual version.
The XLR is for the buyers who just need a mechanical hard convertible top.

I think it will happen within a few years (from GM).
Hardtop convertibles are getting so commonplace (even the Miata has it) that cloth tops will fade away.
