This item is from Costco for 89.95. You can use it so you know exactly how far away you are from a parked car or just to see what is behind you. The camera mounts onto the two license plate screws and blends right in. It comes equipped with everything including monitor.
Anyone install this yet? If so how do you rate this product?

camera in the back? Its only 4 ' behind you, turn your head!
It's probably a wide angle so you won't you know exactly how far away you are from a parked car like you think.
waste of $$$$ and time
I think if you can learn to judge your distance via a camera system, you could learn to judge your distance visually as well. IMO such a camera system in a C6 would be a waste.

Hey, it's good enough for a Lexus! I wonder if it could input into the NAV screen-probably not. That'd be a neat idea, make it switchable on the NAV screen.
I upgraded my audio system with a Pioneer AVIC-Z1 and added the back camera. It wasn't that I needed it, but you know, boys with toys.
Anyway, I use it when backing out of my driveway. You can't see small items directly behind you when you are behind the wheel. Never know if one of the kids will leave a skate board in the driveway.

It comes with its own monitor. To those of you who don't need this just how can you see what is in front of your bumper and rear bumper. If you have a C-6 you will see there is clearly no view to make judgements on distance.

A 2 dimensional camera view will not help you make judgements on distance either. Just info on whats back there.
I guess I'm just lucky, but so far after 32 years of driving and parking cars everyday, I think I've got it down, and have never tapped anything.
My rear got rubbed by a "braille" parker. I've got some nice scratches below my license plate. I know not to parallel park this car, but I didn't expect some granny to have her front plate make love to the *** end of my ride. Sometimes, a rear camera would be a good thing, sometimes...a front camera is needed for some!
