Default Bluetooth Capable??

I ran a search and could not find anything relating to our Vettes being compatible with Bluetooth Technology.

I have a 2007 C6 3LT and was wondering if I can connect my bluetooth-capable phone to the Vette's stereo, and talk on my cell through a mic positioned in the Vette, and hear the caller through my speakers?

My car does not have the NAV by the way.

As far as I know none of the OEM head units are bluetooth enabled. You only choice would be to look to an aftermarket solution for direct bluetooth.

They need to snap out of that one and take care of their primary biz first cause they're getting left behind on that one.

My friend is complaining that his 2005 BMW is outdated, and is looking forward to trading it for the upcoming X6 when it is released. His Bimmer has Bluetooth.......

Can;t win 'em all I guess.

Bluetooth works like magic in my other cars. Onstar may have some limited virtues, but Bluetooth works seamlessly with my moble phone. I am aggravated every time I see that ad for an entry level Nissan Sentry which has Bluetooth standard. C'mon G.M. Get with the 21st Century.

I use the little Motorola Bluetoohj thing that loops on your ear. I turn it on when I get in the car and keep it in the cup holder. If I get a call I hang it on my ear and press the button to answer. It's not fancy but for 30 or 40 bucks, it works well.
BTW: I have the factory NAV system in the C6, but I use a Garmin NUVI 360 in my other cars. The little Mortorola Bluetooth works a lot better than the Bluetooth portion of the NUVI.

When I went car shopping a few weeks ago, a salesman demo'd Bluetooth in the BMW 335i. It was really slick! (and the rest of the car wasn't too shabby, either)

Doubt this is really true. Reason: the late model Caddies have a very similar nav system as the Vette and it has bluetooth. Really a nice setup. This car was OnStar equipped also.

Steve's write-up is awesome. Also, he answered PMs long after the original post.
I just talked with the Parrot folks. They are coming out with a connector specifically for the C-6 that eliminates all the splicing described in Steve's thread. Should be out in 2-3 weeks. I'm holding off on installing my Parrot until then.

Very interesting. Make sure you ask them if their connector will also accomplish the MUTE function. I ask this because when I did mine, the splicing for the speakers could have been avoided with a connector, but on the MUTE feature (that turns off the radio when you're on a call), I pestered plenty of experts and did some of my own experimenting and could not figure out how to do this, not at least by splicing. Perhaps if there were an electronic controller portion added, but that was above my brain power!

I wish they'd make something that works with the stock/non-BOSE radio for us 1LT/2LT types!

Thanks. If you decide to go for it, you're welcome to drive south about 3 miles and we'll do it at my place (Hackberry Creek).

And, I'll tell you about the time I was next to you at a light at 161/MacArthur and almost jerked with you (in my rockin' Blue Honda minivan ).
