Holy !#@* Check your Radiator for debris!!
Attention SO CAL drivers especially.
I drove home last Friday nite in the Santa Ana winds up the 57 and 210 frwy. Junk was blowing all over the road.
I finally remembered to look at the radiator today-just in case. I pulled all this debris out!! I am guessing about 1/6 of the radiator surface was covered by this junk.
I'll check more often now.
By the way, for what it's worth, I have driven in the Santa Ana winds with various cars for 40 years. The C6 is amazingly stable in those terrible crosswinds-the best ever.
Oh, and the worst car? VW bus-downright dangerous to drive in those winds.

yeah, my car kept over heating once, so I look under the car and there was a plastic multch bag stuck to the radiator.. easy fix for something that I was thinking was gonna be bad.

That's the reason I decided to put screens/grill/mesh (whatever you want to call them) on the nose and underside. I didn't want the freeway litter getting sucked up.

You're also correct about the C6 being stable in high winds and about the VW bus being the worst. Back in High School I bought a used 1966 VW (camper) van...the old 'hippie' style. I recall putting-on some extra wide poly-glass tires. I was driving on the Interstate in a violent storm when a sudden cross-wind literally blew the van sideways hydro-planing me into the other lane....scared the crap out of me.
