amber light

what is the purpose of the little amber light by the passenger sun shade?. I did not notice it until now.

According to the Owners Manual:

If it is in the manual I couldn't find it. Is it even mentioned in the owner's manual?

Yes, but the print is only visible under amber light.

It produces a small amount of light on the console area at night so that you can see in that area. To check the effect, sit in a dark area at night with your car running, and put your finger over the light. You will see how the console area darkens. It helps me put my soda can in the drink holder at night.

When I was at the factory in November, someone asked about that light and they said it was for the alarm. I do think it is for cabin lighting at night, my 90 vert had it on the rear view mirror.

Even the tour guides (usually local college students) are sometimes misinformed. As indicated above. The light is intended to bring a small amount of light into the cabin.
