New wheels
I ordered some Chrome Z06 Replicas in stock C6 tire sizes, will be here next week, Im getting them installed at my local chevy dealer where I bought the car, oops I mean Vette/Machine, Is there anything specific I need to know when getting them mounted? or should the chevy dealer already know it all. Do they need to be balanced, Also approx how much should I expect to pay
Go to a shop that has a Hunter GSP Road Force Balancer. Best balancer there is. The wheels are decent quality, but they will need some weight. Watch out for a wheel that's out of round as well. Has been known to be an issue with these wheels.

It cost me $165.00 to have my Z06 replica wheels installed. They did a great job mounting and balancing and I had them put nitrogen in the tires. I am sure I paid extra for that but I think it is worth the extra cost.
Im sure he meant why nitrogen.
Because IIRC nitrogen molecules are larger decreasing the normal pressure loss, and because the molecules expand less with heat making the pressures more stable over time and use.

Thanks for the reply. Nitrogen also lessens the breakdown of the rubber caused by regular air and most importantly to me, nitrogen has very little water in it so it does not corrode your wheels.
Two things to be aware of are to make sure they put the pressure sensors in the same location on the car. Also make sure they replace the O-ring on the inside of the sensor.

Pull a vacuum to about -28 and you will get all the moisture out, just like you do for an air conditioner or you don't get the full benefit of nitrogen.
I use plain old air with a drier on the compressor line.
$100 is about the going rate in Detroit area for a remount and balance.

Actually air has a molecular weight of 28.9 and Nitrogen is just 28. So Air molecules weigh more. So, why do people WASTE their money filling their tires with Nitrogen? Because they can. Actually the only real reason to use Nitrogen is that it's dry. If you get any water vapor in your compressed air, then the pressure can vary more versus the temperature. If you use dry compressed air, then you really can't improve on that.

I was thinking about doing a set of these myself... But I also remember someone posting pics in here with what looked like stock C6 wheels but in 19' and 20' vs 18' and 19' sizes!
you were right on target with the price to get my wheeels mounted, and I got it done right down the street from my dealer on Nimitz, see ya on the road. Hooahhh Army Strong
