Default Cost for coating Headers ??

Would any of you guys know the average cost to coat some LT headers with collectors and x-pipe, no cats being coated. LG Motorsports quoted me over 500.00. That just didn't sound right.
Thanks
Charlie

I had my LG long tube headers coated through 21st Century Muscle Cars....they took the headers outside their own shop to coat. I can't find the paperwork at the moment but I recall it was $400.00.

Default Coated

I will tell you this that pic there of coated headers does not look very good. Looks flat. Mine are polished and a perfect coat when delivered from Melrose not after. I would not be happy with that sort of coating and if they can't get the quality better might as well not coat them. Below is the link to what I installed and what it looks like coated. Hopefully this does not yet again get into another header debate just showing what quality looks like.

Radical, I believe Wayne likely specified a matte finish. Arguably they have better heat characteristics than a polished finish.

I had mine done at Accessories Plus in Belmont, CA and was VERY happy with them. I had just the headers done (not the X and cats) for just under $250. About another $100 to do the X and cats.

Default matte

I never saw a matter finish on a coated header but like you said arguably a difference in heat transfer. Doubt we will notice it, maybe R&D.

I have a matte black finish on my LGs and looks great. I actually prefer it over a polished (black or silver) finish. It looks stealth and almost OE.

Here are some pics... I took the fuel rail covers off. The "scratch" in the first pic must be lens flare. It's not visible looking at it at all. I also got a couple pictures from laying underneath.

The other side

And second shot under showing connection to cats

the ones in the closeup wipe right off... given I've had silver polished (from Jet-Hot) and these in matte black I think the matte finish holds up better (so far)

$235 from Accessories Plus They're in Belmont, CA. They do GREAT work and have a strong reputation in the drag car and race boat worlds. Ask for Ron. They do matte black, polished black, matte silver and polished silver coatings.

And it was just under $250 out the door.

Default Coated Headers

Just had Melrose install last week, and come coated from the factory. Look like highly polished aluminum, great looking. The local Corvette shop that did the install showed me a set on his vette that were 8 years old, still looked very good after several racing seasons.
