I just got back from my trip with the C6 I rented from Hertz. Let me just tell you this car is incredible. I was thinking of purchasing a BMW 335 however I am now thinking more towards the Corvette. It was a silver on tan 3lt with chrome rims and 5000 miles. I cant say enough good things about the car, my only complaint being the interior which I understand Chevy dressed up the interior for the C6 but it could use a little less plastic. Only got away from me one time when I was trying to make a u-turn gave it too much gas and did a 360.:o Last night I covered over 280 miles in 2 hours and 45 min. I hit 163 mph an got scared cause it was taking a while to go into 6th gear. Is this normal? Anyway these cars are awsome.
I'm glad you enjoyed your C6 experience (and survived pushing it to 163mph on a public road and one spinout). I drove BMWs for over 25 years and although I still like some of their models, a BMW just doesn't have the 'thrill factor' that the C6 possesses.
Although an 'upgraded' Corvette interior is an often heard desire, do keep in-mind Corvette engineers focused on weight and cost to design and deliver the C6....arguably the finest high performance sports car for the money in the world.
Your exploits with your C6 rental serve to reinforce why one should exercise great caution when considering the purchase of a high performance (former) rental car.
