Battery Tender Users ?
I'd like to use a Battery Tender and also cover the car. Is this possible? If so. how do you run the wires and where do you sit the Tender unit. Can the wire be snaked out from the bottom of the engine compartment. If need be, I'll buy the 25' extension. Thanks for your suggestions.

yes it can.
My method
I cover my car and I run the wire out threw the back of the hood. Hood is just gently set down (unlatched), and I use a shoprag on fender and let the wire run down to charger unit that sets on a chair.
The unit faces the door and I can see the LEDs evertime I walk by.

My battery tender plus just arrived yesterday.
I plan to hook it up tonight.
I have the car covered in the back of my garage and I plan to run the wire out the bottom of the engine compartment so I can fully shut the hood and put the cover back on.
Then I’ll set the charger on a stool next to the car.

As like most here, I set it on the floor, run the wires over the fender, do not latch the hood, and put the cover on it. No problems. Plus, with the hood unlatched it makes it easy to raise the hood and remove it. Unplug it first.

My tender sits right on the top of the hood with a cover in place. Just ran the wires down from the windshield area. I do have several towels under the tender. No problems and have done that for quite a while now.

I use a CTEK 3300, one of the best. Instructions tell you not to use an extension cord.

I have a Battery Tender Plus. I have it to the hot contact of the battery and the black to a bolt on the engine. Put a towel on the hood under the wires. Tender is on the garage floor with a block of wood under it. The hood is down but not closed tight. Next the cover is on.
The Tender does not "exercise" the battery. It first charges it and then monitors the battery. If the battery needs a charge again at some point in the future it will then give it a charge. Most of the time the light will be green as the Tender simply monitors the battery.

Very easy, took all of 10 minutes.
My car is parked in the back of my garage under a Wolf cover
Two 10mm nuts removed to attach the terminal connections
Ran the wire out the bottom of the engine compartment.
Closed the hood and placed the cover back on.

The wire would then need to run down alongside the car between the fender and cover.
That’s why I went out the bottom.

I use the Porsche Battery Maintainer. All you do is plug it into your cigarette lighter and then into a wall socket. The cord is long enough to handle almost any situation. Extremely easy to use. Just leave your window open a crack for the wire. Hood is never opened. This is great because when you want to drive your car all you have to do is pull the transformer out of the wall socket then the plug out of the cigarette lighter and your ready to go. Works great on the C6.

1. open hood
2. slide Battery Tender cables under car
3. use coated wire with bent end to form a hook to pull wires off floor and up to battery
4. connect to battery
5. close hood
6. cover car
7. plug in Battery Tender
8. Wait till spring
