sounds like the shaft adjustment is off... well it's not really an adjustment.... but the shaft has a slot for the bolt/coupler to go..if it comes a little loose it will still work....
it has a little movment and it sounds like it is at one end of the slot...

I have exactly the same problem. Had my torque tube / clutch / rear main seal serviced. Now it is hart to get into reverse or 6th.
