Default Other drivers?

Do other drivers drive more or less crazy around you, when driving your vette?

That's only happened once to me, but I have read many a thread about others with this problem, and quite a number of posts from your area.

They don't drive crazy but they park in order to **** me off. I will park out in BFE not another car around for 30-40 spaces and some Ahole in a POS has to park right up against me. So far no door dings but it sure is annoying.

One night some guy in the PU truck was literally chasing-me down, getting right up on my a$$ repeatedly. This went on long-enough I was starting to get mad. Finally he got to where he could get alongside me...he yelled out the window "Nice car man!" My car sounds 'heavy' so I get a few challenges from others....nothing too obnoxious though.

That happened to me (again) yesterday. I stopped for lunch, parked in BFE and when I came out, there was a landscaper's truck with a large trailer about 1 foot away from my passenger side door. I think the guy had to back the trailer up against my car. My car was fine. The funny thing was the guy had other easier places he could have parked, not blocked anyone and still gotten out. It figures!

Took a ride around the DC Beltway on Saturday. When I got over near the Wilson bridge, I look up in the mirror and what do I see, some crazy a$$ dude in a white Ford pickup about 3 feet from my rearend.

I guess since I drive a Corvette I should be going much faster?????

Sometimes.
But they're not around for very long.

I have noticed a HIGH number of people that want get right up on my bumper at redlights..... It gets old... It seems like they want to see how close they can get without hitting me. I have never had this problem in any other car on a regular bassis like I do in the vette...

They also like to get close on the highway but not like they do at redlights.....

I have to deal with this in my M3 on a daily basis and it's annoying. At least once a day some idiot is beside me revving their motor or passing me fast and slowing down.

I don't see it happen often to Corvette drivers in my area. I'm looking to driving the Vette and having people leave me alone.

When driving on the Highway I try to maintain a reasonable distance between my car and the car in front of me, this also helps to avoid getting pelted with rocks and other chip causing debris in the low riding Corvette. Inevitably some knucklehead in a large SUV with knobby tires seizes the opportunity to manuever his or her land yacht between me and the car in front of me. I guess they figure that they don't need more than 15 or twenty feet between them and the car in front of them at highway speeds. Sometimes I think that their mirrors are so high up that they don't actually see the Corvette.
I honestly think that most people that own these huge SUVs don't know how to drive them. There should probably be some sort of special licensing test for these things, somewhere between a license to operate a car and license to operate a large commercial truck.

Yep.

They are caught in "The Vortex of Hotness" and they can't help themselves.

A M3 will draw the nuts as well as a Corvette.
The heavier the population the larger the chance a brainstem will pull some kind of a stunt.

You're "next door" in IA, I see.
I'm 50 miles north of Milwaukee, WI.

It's inevitable while out in the middle of nowhere (literally) I'll come across a brainstem who's compelled to crowd me on an otherwise deserted highway or road. I swear it happens 3 outa 5 times I go out for some R&R to "bond" with the ZCar.

Amen to that!!

Just last Saturday I'm pasing through a smallish pissant town heading into the country, first drive in my ''06 in weeks so I'm pumped.
Sure enough directly behind me a brainstem, this one's driving an Olds Aurora, y'know the 32 valve V8 car?

The leaker's right on my bumper, I'm only going 25mph (per speed limit).
The streets have a light film of salt dust on 'em so I momentarily goose it in 2nd deliberately to break the rearend lose a bit to send a signal to brainstem to back-off.
No go, Heir Brainstem doesn't get it.

Go another half mile & reach the edge of town, there's a large sloping rightward turn going downhill & then straightening out for miles.
*Perfect*

The brainstem's about 10' behind me coming outa the turn.
I gradually accelerate -- no WOT or anything "violent" -- just a nice steady application of LS2 power-to-road.
Brainstem immediately sees what I'm doing & he's going to keep up, right?

Mere seconds pass, tach says ~4500 in 3rd, a glance into the RV mirror.
reveals brainstem's nothing more than a small & rapidly getting smaller spec in the distance.

When I got home the experience inspired me to buy a set of Southern Car Parts' decals.
Y'know the ones that say, "OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE LOSING"?

When I get over to the Dallas area, I noticed those people think that 1 1/2 car lengths is enough of a space to pull into with room to spare. To them, 15 to 20 feet would be enough room for 2 cars to pull into .
