Hello all,
I am considering purchasing headers for my c6 z51 m6 and have done some reading about mild steel headers rusting (particularly FLPs), since Melrose headers are coated mild steel (I think) has anyone experience rusting either inside or out? Please let me know.
Thanks.
I have the Melrose and have no issues they are great and very well made. Despite the bla bla bla you will hear, they are not going to get chipped and rusted unless you drive on a gravel road daily maybe. I also have Hooker coated headers on my 67GT (over 10 years now) with no issues. They look great, cool off quick and keep heat down under the hood. The fit and quality is second to none.
Thanks Radical, appreciate the update. Anybody else experience rusting? I am strongly leaning toward the Melrose b/c of price, coating, and recommendations. All opinions appreciated. Thanks.
The coated ones do not unless they were crappy coated. Like I stated above no issues with 2 different sets. The quality of the Melrose were just awesome that's all I can say. Maybe others out there claim 5hp more on the dyno but I'm concerned with not only that but quality, craftsmanship, customer service etc and all that was obtained at Melrose.

That's good to know about Melrose. I will check them out.
