On the vert there's an emergency gas cap release on the inside side of the trunk on the left. Since you don't have your profile filled out I don't know if you have a coupe or vert.

The coupe also has a gas DOOR release, but I don't think that'll help with the problem. The door just won't open because of ice in the vicinity of the door hinge.
Some here are confusing the word "cap" with the word "door." I think it's the gas "DOOR" that's the problem, not the gas cap. The emergency release cables have nothing to do with the gas cap.

Sorry, I was just assuming it was the cold weather, since mine's only been doing that since the 20-degree weather got here.
Good assumption. The panels shrink in the cold, making the fit to the door latch tighter. When it is really cold, I have to help the door open. But when the weather is warm, it pops open freely. You can adjust the solenoid release, but I guarantee you'll have to adjust it back when the weather warms up or the door will come flying open on its own while you drive.

My 'panel' also shrinks in the cold.....but when the weather is warm, it pops open freely. Thank God I live where it's warm most all the time.

Mine seems to work fine in the heated garage!!! Have not put gas in it since last October and with a foot of snow out there it will be in for a while. Just rub it in Wayne while I have to wait for warm weather.
Had the same problem. I looked closely at the door fit, and noticed that there are some "stickems'" or whatever you call them, that were out of alignment. I pushed them straight again and the problem ended.
Push the button with one hand while you're jiggling the edge of the gas door with the other hand. Mine started doing that about 2 weeks ago.
Me too, last two times I filled up. I push the button and then have to pull the door open with my fingernail.

Wingrider, could you try to describe your fix in more detail, please? A pic perhaps? thanks.
