Its a beautiful day today about 30 degrees and nice and sunny. I'm Jones'n to get some time in the seat of one of my Vets, so I had to resort to drastic measures. My driveway is quite steep and this is the only way for me to get out. With another 2 feet of snow expected in the next 48 hours it will be awhile before I can take another ride so to paraphrase NASA Not driving the Vet is not an option.
hey, if it does no damage to the car, whats the problem? just make sure you clean her up nice when you get back, and all is forgiven.
Yup, they're just for getting out of the driveway, it takes 30 sec to take them off then is out for a ride then a quick spray wash and back under cover.
You are not breaking any Corvette commandments. You are in fact abiding by the ONE most important Corvette commandment: "DRIVE THY VETTE!!!"
These cars were meant to be driven... PERIOD. I just feel bad for all those who ARE breaking Corvette commandments, especially the one: "Thou shalt not let thy Corvette rot away in the garage untouched because thou is afraid of getting it dirty"... that there is the deadliest of all Corvette sins in my book. ANYTHING that must be done in order to take one's Vette for a DRIVE can only be a good thing.
Remember, the ones who die having logged on the most Corvette miles are the WINNERS. Those who have logged on the least amount of miles are the suckers. If you wax your Vette more than you drive it, do the car a favor and give it to someone who truly appreciates it.
I think I'm gonna take my C6 for a spin right now matter of fact.
After putting on the mounting hardware, which consists of replacing factory lug nuts with the lug nuts supplied and then putting on a mounting plate, which takes about 10-15 minutes, putting on the actual chains take less than a minute. At no time does the tire ever leave the ground, pretty slick. I wouldn't drive with them on but for me getting them allowed me to take advantage of nice days and be able to get some seat time in one of my Vets. I believe they can make them in any size, I called to get the right ones for my C4 28040ZR17 they came all set up just required mounting no adjustment needed.
