so you see the vertical bars, look closely at the middle row, and it look like there is a bit of silver on the bar. Thats where you wrap the zip tie around the grill to your factory egg crate unit, cinch tight, and trim from behind. The bottom pick shows it on, you cannot see the ties

It is a chromed factory replacement. You have to take out the origional and replace it with the chromed one. It does not wire tie in place.
West coast corvettes have them on page 31 of there catalog.

Don't know if this will help. Mercado Industries has instructions on their website that deal with installing their screen. Part of those instructions will tell you how to get the factory grill out. Trust me, it is a PITA and not something I want to do again, unless it is to remove the screen.
Good luck.
GM may well have more than one chrome grill treatment for the C6 - I don't know for sure. The one that I have is meant to bolt in behind the stock egg crate. It is made of 2 sections and is well constructed (made in Austria, I think) The instructions are pretty decent, and very specific to that particular grill - other install instructions will be worthless to you.
Your vendor may be able to fax or email instructions to you. If yours is the 2-piece like mine, there are a couple of threads a while back that address the install.
