I see advertised in the current issue of CQ the Superchips Flashpaq - anyone have one & what is your opinion on it? Ease of use? Effect on the car? Cost vs. benefit? All opinions wanted!
Many, many threads here by individuals who should know, indicate there's no chip for the C6. Does the ad say specifically that it's for the C6? Does it guarantee any hp gain?
"If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
Correct - it is a computer tuning device, not a chip. My question is whether anyone has used it &, if so, results? Are the claims in the chart correct? Seems like a decent hp/torque gain, if true, for a few hundred dollars.
i have one. it does what it says. also they are working on being able to go to a web site, tell them your mods, and download a new tune based on that. i toured their factory before i got mine and i have to say they run a top notch operation and i think they really know what they are doing. IMO good product at a good price from a good company.
I lent them (Superchips) my 2001 and 2004 C5s for dyno development and testing of these devices, and got a free one for each in exchange (one more nice thing about being in central FL).
The C6 is now all broken in with about 5500 miles, but if the C6 version is already shipping I may not have the chance for a freebie again.
My experience with my C5 Superchips tuners was positive, especially for the price I paid (2 days in a rental and driving back and forth to Sanford).
I felt enough to sense it on the SOTP dyno, and always run 93 or better fuel anyway, and the elimination of CAGS was a bonus without crawling around the trans to install the bypass.
I carried the unit in the rear storage in case I ever needed to revert to stock in anticipation of a tow or something, but only took the tune off the C5s when I traded them.
