Snow is starting to go and the roads are good so took the vette for a spin. Going down a 3 lane fwy. in the middle lane doing about 6 mph over the posted limit. Moron in a rice rocket catches up to me and tailgates me for about 2 miles. Other 2 lanes are pretty much empty.
Finally gives up and blows past me, almost loses it on the exit ramp.
Is this pretty much what you can expect when driving the vett?
Its not so bad, dont disreguard everyone right off the bat.
I had a guy in a stealth follow me about 10 miles down a highway, staying on my tail. I was doing about 4 over and passing the now and then car in the right lane when I desided to pull off in to a starbucks. He pulls in and gets out in which i see it is now a father and son, and comes over to say "My sons favorite car is the Corvette, do you mind if he gets a closer look"
Not everyone that sticks to you is looking for a race alot I have found to just slow down and look, some wave and give a thumbs up.
Last night a BMW bulled up next to me, stepped on his gas hard after the light turns green, cut me off right in front of me, I just let him do his show off for his hot girl inside his BMW. It's not even a challenge with BMW 330i, I know my Vette can easily take him out. End of the story. Life is too short to do stupid things like that, it's not worth it.
At least you seem to be having younger folks play games with you. Me on the other hand, being just a tad older, I had an old man in an old pickup truck make his move on me as the highway narrowed from two lanes to two.
Perhaps he could see me as I did sit lower than his truck. He did pass me though, so I hope he saw me.
I find that a lot of drivers like to stay close behind or beside to ''use'' your radar detector or figure the cop will pull you over and not them.
The guys who want to race get bored real quickly if you don't go for the bait.
Unrelated: Just got our final snowstorm here--I hope. Did you ever notice how the powers that be always say "Slow Down" when the roads are snow covered. Has anyone ever given the good advice to speed up a little before you get to a rising incline, so maybe you can make it up the hill?

Or said "It's warm and sunny today with clear roads. Speed up and have fun in your sports car."?
