Some have posted previously that a 3LT will have higher resale value...
I think the buy-3LT-for-resale argument is exactly wrong. Options always depreciate faster and further than the base car does.
And consider that while a 5-year-old C6 will still be a pretty modern car, its 5-year-old navigation system (for those who opt for the Nav package) will be positively ancient. In 10 years, it will likely detract from the resale value!
I think the best strategy is to buy the car you want today.

Agreed. In San Diego one does not need heated seats, one needs cooled seats. The nav unit, if it's still working when you are through with the car will be a major drag on value, in my opinion. Just use a hand-held Garmin if you get lost frequently. I've found the HUD to be distracting when it's on, and the reflection in the windshield distracting when it's off. The 2LT was just right for me. Oh, and every Bose system I've ever owned in a GM car was simply awful. Yes, I'm geting antsy. I should take delivery of my Monty Red Coupe in a few weeks.
I enjoy my 2LT. Too me the 3LT items are neat but don't make it a better sports car. Plus the Bose stereo sucks. The 2LT stereo actually sounds better and it's easier to do simple upgrades.
If HUD and Nav are not needed, 2LT is the way to go ... I personally am a gadget freak ... so 3LT is for me ... I like Nav + HUD ... plus with my GMID discount, they end up costing a lot less.

I bought my first C6 with GMID. The cost really isn't an issue for me. I actually like the cleaner look of the interior without all the gadgets.
Maybe the fact that my 05 was a total lemon is scaring me a bit, too. It's all the more stuff that will break and keep the car in the shop if I get my third Corvette lemon in a row.
