Louvers???
Has anyone had the courage to put louvers in their front quarter panels above the front tires ala the C6R? It could look awesome if done right!!! IMO, of course...

What would be trick is if you did it in a manor that the louver actually did what they are inteneded.
there's a bunch of crap in the way though...it would be impractical on anything but a full race (ala C6R) vehicle.
They look bad-*** though.

A few 80s supercars had those too, I've always wondered what the point of those things were, does anybody know?

That's too bad. I tend to like "purposeful" mods, as a rule. It wouldn't be as cool if it were just for looks.

They pull cool air into a given compartment from a vacuum effect that is caused when air rushes over the louvers. Great for brakes, and downforce.

It cuts down on lift generated from inside the wheel well. The TVR Sagaris was originally designed with louvered fenders until they found the prototypes were kicking rocks into the windshield and destroying it within 2 mins.

Generally speaking,
form should follow function such as the 2008 Viper's massive hood louver's needed for cooling. IMO the Viper's hood louvers aren't a positive addition to the Viper's styling but they'r needed.
