I gotta say, as a new Corvette owner, I had never heard about nor seen "the wave." But as I started driving, other Vettes would pass by and most drivers would wave. Of course, I would wave back. I think it's one of the coolest things about owning a Corvette.
Something to think about. I wouldn't count the Interstate too heavely. I have been waved at by people coming the other direction but that's a little wierd to me but if I pass or get passed by another Vette I always wave.

Between freeways, divided streets, heavy traffic and tinted windows, I am not really sure. I always try to give the wave; but sometimes another Corvette passes so quickly, I miss giving or seeing the wave.
I was pulling out of a gas station one day as a man driving a C5 pulled in. I gave him the wave, and he waved back. It looked like it brightened up his day.
I say 20-40%, when i first got into corvettes in 2003 people use to wave all the time at me but when i got a z06 01 things start changing.
now that i have a c6 06 they rarelly say hi. but i keep on trying.
A bit misleading since, in TX at least, almost all Vettes have tinted windows. Very hard to see if someone is waving unless they are going out of their way to be seen. The typical TX one finger wave is hard to see... (No its NOT the middle finger. )
We are friendly folk here in Tennessee. I get 90-100% all the time.
Same here. I'm just outside of Nashville. Just brought a 2007 five days ago. First time vette owner. My first wave came from a vette I pulled up to behind in traffic. As the vette turned onto a side street, the female driver waved. My wife jokingly gave me a rough time. Now we know that is it very common to greet other vettes on the road.
