Default TPMS Question

If I buy new wheels for my 2006 C6 (non-Z51), what is the procedure for having new TPMS sensors mounted in the wheels? Does a competent installer have these available, or do I have to get them from the dealer?

Thanks.

Most folks remove them from the old wheels - - -they're the portion inside the wheel from the tire valve-- and re-used them in the new wheels.

Be careful to mark the position of each sensor (RF, LF, etc) so you can locate the sensors on the new wheels that go at the same corner - - otherwise, you'll need to buy the programming tool or have the dealer do it in ordeer for your tire sensor system to work properly.

(Or, you can buy new ones from a GM dealer)
