I am about to make the move to C6 from the C5.About how many vetts are built a month so when I do a search for a vert I can tell how long it has been sitting on the lot from the build date.Looking at the last digits of the VIN I think this could be narrowed down. Such as 4000-5000. Oct ect. Any help would be great.I am hoping this forum helpful as the C-5 is.
The plant builds 150-180 per day. 5 days a week times 4.33 weeks per month = approx. 3250 - 3900 per month.
They built 34,000 vettes in the 2006 model year, which would be about 3,000 a month for 11 months (2 weeks vacation at Christmas, 2 weeks vacation at July 4).

Just look at the drivers door sill decal. It will tell you the month and year it was built.

Its hard to open the door through my computer. I was doing searches on line and I really rather get one with a later build date if I find it.The later the better less traffic through it and less road test.Sorry if I confused you all.

Good point. If it is internet searching you are doing you have two choices. A) follow JimTN's post above and you can hazard a guess as to the approximate build time. Second, if you narrow a couple of VIN's down, anyone with access to the GM VIS system can print out a report that will include the build date of the vehicle. Several forum members have access to this information and will generally provide it upon request.

Take your pick of numbers.
Thanks for the info this was what I was looking for just an approximate number just to get an idea on when it was built. This also helps sometimes because if the dealer has had it on his lot since say Aug. he might be trying to dump it to get it off his floor plan.
