Default Z51

This may seem like an ignorant question...but time and time again people ask me if I have the Z51 package on my 2006 vert. I blow the question off because honestly, I have no idea how to tell.

Is there a way to find this out? What do I look for exactly?

Thanks,

Paul Z.

Open glove box and look at the list of options therein.

Look at the SPID (Service Parts IDentification) label. I think it is located in the instrument panel compartment. Look for RRP code Z51. If listed, you have Z51, if not listed, you do not have Z51.

Also, for 2006 the brake rotors will be drilled if you have Z51. Otherwise, not drilled rotors.

You can tell if it stops much quicker, handles much better, and accelerates much harder than the "base" model......

agreed, check the codes listed on the sticker in the glove box or take a gander at the shocks.

Yes, it's responses like this that got the other 99 threads about the Z51 handling package locked.

As others have said, the surest and easiest way is to look at the white label with black lettering on the inside of the glovebox door.

Yep, all that for a $1,500 option. Oh, and I have some land in FL to sell you as well.

I wonder why they would ask that. How do all these people you run across know of the Z51?

Seriously, it will say so in the glovebox sticker.
