I was at the local mall today and a nice looking MR convertable c6 with the top down comes around the corner towards me. I wave , he waves back. Unfortunately when he waves he doesn't have any hands on the wheel and his car jerks over towards mine. Fortunately he was able to get control back so no harm done.

SAVE THE WAVE (when safe to do so)
Funny you should mention that. I have this recurring fear that I'll be the first dummy to crash while waving. Especially when I'm alongside another Vette and I look over to wave. Imagine trying to explain that one.

OMG! What would the odds be? Nevermind, i don't want to know!
Be careful...that waving business can be hazardous.
Reminds me years ago my buddy and I were driving in his pickup truck. We were both 'eyes left' watching a rather attractive young woman sitting on a bench. Suddenly she put both her hands up and covered her face...we quickly looked straight-ahead and my friend locked-up the brakes narrowly avoiding crashing-into the cars which had stopped in front of us. We never got to thank her (but we would have liked to).
My wave is only with ONE hand so I am always in control. Also, I may just flash the lights. Can't quite imagine waving with both hands and not have control of my vehicle.
My favorite 'hands off the wheel' story is from the 80's. I was an official for a few years at the Indy 500 (truly a cool job).
That year, Tom Sneva crashed on the Pace lap (causing us many scoring problems later).
Turns out that while he was going down the back straight, he wasn't happy with how his steering wheel was aligned. They're quick release, so he thought he'd just fix it. Popped it off. Forgot that the tires were staggered.
The car immediately took a sharp turn left into the wall.
