Just received my laminated build sheet and window sticker from the NCM in the mail today. All I can say is I think it was a worthwhile purchase. Dealer had removed the window sticker for me before I had a chance to pull it off myself [carefully]. It looked ok but the laminated window sticker looks a lot better. If you have a VIS printout, it doesn't compare to the laminated build sheet IMO. I probably would have never thought of doing this for any other vehicle I've owned but this is my baby.
I ordered the buildsheet and the sticker. I think they are worth having. However, I noticed the price on the sticker is off a couple hundred bucks from the original. I think the Z51 option was a little higher on the original sticker.
What's an VIS? Vehicle info sheet maybe, but where is it used?
GM's Vehicle Inquiry System. It pretty much has a lot of the same information. Any dealer should be able to get you the information. It has mostly everything that is listed on the glovebox sticker.
Is the build sheet something you can really understand? I've always kicked the idea around about getting one! Thanks
Not really but it looks cool.
I thought the VIS sheet makes more sense although in my case it's not 100% accurate nor is the glovebox sticker. Apparently someone in BG thought my car was ordered with two-tone seats. Nope, ebony all the way. The real build sheet is correct.
Go for it, they're not too expensive, and a nice keepsake. Add 5 bucks each to laminate them.
Interesting your CHG and SHIP code dealers are different. Was yours a dealer trade?
No, my car dealership in Minnesota sent all my order info to New Rockford Chev in North Dakota and had them put the order in. I was able to save $3,500 off MSRP that way. My car was shipped directly to Wadena, MN.

I actually got a call from the NCM asking me if my car has two-tone seats before they ran the sticker and build sheet. BTW, if your car was built right before or right after a price increase and your sticker from the NCM is wrong, they will correct it for you.

Thanks, I'll send them an email and ask why mine doesn't match the original.

Yes, the build sheet provides a lot of information about the car and the options because that is what the line workers use to make sure it has everything that it is supposed to.
I purchased my car from New Rockford Chevrolet too! Larry Danduran is the BEST! He is one of the rare dealers that doesn't take advantage of customers, is very professional, and courteous. I had my car drop shipped to Orange, CA... Too bad Larry's service department wasn't closer. He'd get all my business!
Congrats on your car. The Build Sheet looks great.

I got a call asking the same thing. Ironic that a few days prior I was looking at the VIS sheet and my glovebox sticker and they both have the R9N code clearly listed which is the two-toned embroidered seat option. When I asked the NCM why they were asking me about this I didn't get much of an answer. Figured they had run into this before.
When I went on the Museum Delivery factory tour, they explained that the bar code(in the upper left corner) is what the robotic scanners use to make sure the correct parts arrive in the right sequence to be installed on the cars. The workers have to only pick up the part and install. The build sheet is on the front of the car as it is being built, and is read as it moves down the line.I think it is a really cool adddition to all our other Corvette wall art collection.

This is correct. I was given the original build sheet from the front of my C6 near the end of the assembly during my Buyers Tour. I was very happy to find out that the one I got from the NCM is a very close match for the original one (minus a few greasy fingerprints and tape marks, of course).
