Hey everyone!! Well...lets cut a long story short...I QUIT MY JOB TODAY I had been at this dealership for 3 years...starting off as lot guy onto sales..from sales to assistant manager...i quit last nite...today i removed my belongings from my demo and cleaned up my desk and came home...said my final goodbyes to everyone...PRETTY DEPRESSING!!!!!!!!!!! It was my first job...EVER...lets just say i still feel like sh*t but better then before...once i got home...the first thing i did was put the big box full of things in my room...grab the fob to my vette...put the top down and went for a VERY LONG DRIVE....probably about 5 hours of driving...thinking...listening to music...listening to the engine etc...made me feel better...is your vette an anti-depressant???
Hopefully quitting your job was a positive move and not something to be overly depressed about. While driving your Vette certainly makes you feel better....its a bit like drinking or drugs. You might feel better for a while but if there's a problem....it'll still be there when park it in the garage.
Enjoy your Corvette...it's a great way to relieve any stress. Good luck!
I know what you mean. I was laid-off from my job in January. I had just bought my Vette in December. The only comforting thought was driving it home that day from work. Keep in mind I hated that job anyway and the severance actually did me a favor. Was probably the worst employer I ever had. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. I was out of work about 4 weeks and landed a much better (and better paying) job. Hopefully good fortune will find your way.
Don't be depressed. You hated the job anyway. You did the right thing. Get right back out there and find a better job. Now it might seem bleak, but treat this like an opportunity to improve your situation. Things happen for a reason. Good things happen when you take control. Best of luck to you.

That reminds me, I have to do that soon.
Anyway, good luck with a new job.
I quit several jobs when I was younger, but now I'm older and get paid well, so I can't quit. Nobody wants to hire the old sh-t, when they can hire younger, more obediant and energetic applicants.

You bet my C6 is a mood changer for myself! Driving my C6 can make a cloudy day seem sunny.
Good luck working through a tough time. My Vette will do the job but I find a ride into the country on my motorcycle (Honda VTX1800) clears my head best. If you're in your 20's or 30's that's a good time to dump a bad job or just make a change. You have plenty of recovery time and the job market is better. Wait until you're in your 40's or 50's and it's a whole different story. A couple of things I learned along the way is that the best time to find a job is while you still have a job and don't stay in one place too long. Good luck.

Don't worry, you will get a new job soon. You just need to be active searching for open positions and sending out your resume. Don't be a couch potato when you are unemployeed. Hope this helps. Good luck to you.
Cheer up man. Everything happens for a reason. Think how bad you would feel if they FIRED you from the job you hated? The Vette is great for thinking and mood elevation. Now dust yourself off and find a new saddle to sit in. It is just a job, not who you are.
