From: NJ..."the way I saw it, everyone takes a beating sometimes."
I wont allow myself to do the math....I might start to cry. But all that matters is that I'm having fun and can still afford to pay my bills every month.
From: North Strand, NMB, SC; Retired x 2 (US Army: 70-90 AD) (US Army: 91-16 DAC); yea, I'm old.
Since Aug '05, less than $750 (PCd calipers; nylon mask; PD splash guards; partition).
Getting ready to drop some funds for under the hood mods: custom painted FRCs; Pipedreams custom etched altenator cover; painted hoodliner; Kooks 1.75 headers; Callaway Honker; tune and maybe a h/c setup.
This is like you were reading my mind. Last week I finally got around to building a spread sheet listing all my mods, what they "listed" for, what "I paid" for them and whom I purchased them from along with contact info. I've done this with all my vette's since 1998.
I didn't include shipping/handling/taxes or labor. When it hit the Sum Total function I almost fell out of my chair. I've spent over $5K in mods on my 2006 coupe in the last 13 months. List price(s) were considerably more. I could spend another $3K real easy.
I password protected that document so the wife can't see it.
Are your $300-$7000 categories supposed to be $3000-$7000?
Up to now, a set of rubber floor mats was my only mod, for about $75. However, I finally broke down and ordered a car cover, since my 06 sits under a carport, an easy target for pollen and cats.
I'm very happy with my car, just as it is. i'll probably get a bra for it one of these days.. then maybe the color-matched intake covers, but that's about it.
Reading the thread about the Lingfelter engine swap.. 500/560 (or whatever it was), kinda makes me drool... but the car's got enough power to get me in to all kinds of trouble.. so i'm good on performance mods.. at least for now.
Yeow, I'm getting soooo close to that next category, over $500. Looks like once I get there I'm safe for awhile and can stay in that category for long time!
I think some of those symbols are skewed but no matter. I haven't been keeping a running total but it's well off the chart (probably twice as much as my wife thinks I spent). I still have a few things to do when I get time this summer. I consider it money well spent....modding my C6 increased my driving enjoyment about a hundred times over. The car is a blast!
