Borla Pics Please
Tom, how would you compare the sound of this system to the Bullets. I know they're quieter, but how much? Do the Stingers bark at start up like the Bullets do? Are they a similar deep tone like the Bullets?
But I'll try and be objective. First I've owned both. Second I found the B&B Bullets to be a wickedly fantastic sounding MACHO exhaust system when the windows were down or the top was off. Man they sounded sweet. The Borla's are about 75% of that sound.
But button up the car (mine is a daily driver here in the mid-west) and the Bullets were in a word - HORRIBLE (to my ears and I don't need any lectures). Example: Interior bits and pieces buzzed. After about 30minutes I had "ringing" in my ears similar to what happens after attending a rock concert. OK, I'm 54 and spent 22 years on the flight line while in the USAF so maybe my ears are shot. I did suffer a ruptured ear drum while serving in Viet Nam and I'm sure that contributes to my issues.
So I removed them and sold them. To me the Borla's sound the best of the "classic muscle" car sounding cat-backs. They "bark" when you first fire them up, I know because my neighbors across the street mentioned they know when I leave for work early. The have a nice deep tone (not AS DEEP as the Bullets) but also w/o many of the side affects either.
It's a trade off like everything in life. I needed a system that I could live with yet still provide the classic All American small block Chevy muscle car sound w/o making the car unlivable. I found what I was looking for in the Borla's.
Having said all this does this mean they are right for you??? Only you can make that choice. But I found exhaust nirvana.

Looks like I'll be making the switch, but I'm sure going to miss those huge B&B tips back there.
