What happened to the rear brakes? and these wheels?
Hey thanks for the photos, but it looks like the '08 rear drilled brake rotor is smaller or the rear wheel appears bigger due to the new spoke design. These new wheels look polished, but check out the diameter of this wheel hub, it looks just barely wide enough to cover the rotor hat's size. I wonder which type of brakes were used for the initial prototyping of this new wheel, Z51 or standard!
Oh well, what's the phone number for those HRE guys? And those guys at Stoptech, and the good engineers at Michelin?
It's a shame you got to spend money on new wheels, brakes and tires even before the new model is released for sale!

My point was that 435 was never officially noted. It was simply posted and adopted here on the forum and became the law . So now people can form the lynch mob over the 430 in place of the 435 that never even existed. It almost doesn't matter, they are gonna get pissed off over something regardless.
Good points.
The new SAE certification test procedure J2723. was put into place to prevent the shenanigans of misstating horsepower.
Now we have people saying that the 430 is "underrated".
If it is "certified" at 430, then thats what it is.

Looks like email junk filters are at work. First two pictures arrived. Looks like this is a 08 Black vert. These are cell phone pics. He has promised better pics when he gets to the hotel. Also incoming should be some engine bay shots. I'll post when they get thru the filters.
Also, unless they are putting Eagle F1 Supercars on C6s other than Z51 for '08, then thats a Z51. It has no emblem so we can put that rumor to rest as well.
Unless this car is an F55 with Eagle F1 supercars on it, or a base with Eagle F1 supercars and crossdrilled rotors on it, then its a Z51.....with what at least appears from this photo to be the same exhaust system found on all current C6s.

Wishing I was there... anyways, HiRes pics being sent to me now. With email filters, probably another 3 hours or so before I get them. He did emphasis that Cooksey was saying 430-436 is about what the engine makes and to be conservative GM would probably list it at 430. So nothing is official yet. He did also say that the red interior is now darker than the 07 red interior. I'll get the shots posted as soon as I have them.

I'm certainly happy with 30-35 more Hp. What are the Torque numbers?

Those look like Eagle F1 Supercar EMTs sure enough.................................. ........................................ ........................................ ..............But that don't look like no Z06 exhaust to me.

Also, if the new HP rating standard does not allow them to derate, then I would expect to see numbers that are NOT round - i.e. 434 HP or 431 HP, and not 430 or 435 HP.

I believe the early "scoop" was that the Z06 exhaust came with the Z51 package, which "jives" with the supercar tires on this specimen (based on the OP saying it had the Z06 exhaust).
Also, if the new HP rating standard does not allow them to derate, then I would expect to see numbers that are NOT round - i.e. 434 HP or 431 HP, and not 430 or 435 HP.

Just curious. If 430 hp (new rating) is conservative, what does that make our current 400 hp rating?
No change in the rear spoiler and door handles either.
