Got my first wave today.. C4 Grand Sport on Rt. 15 in MD.. Was a nice feeling, like a brotherhood.. The wife was all excited too.. Anyway if your on the forum by chance .... thanks & nice ride ! We were in the silver C6
Reminded me of the best wave I've received so far. Last weekend, in the morning on the way to the donut shop, I'm driving on the Interstate service road and had to yield for an exiting red C5. I was talking about the other Vette to my wife when the other driver actually held up for me to catchup in the other lane, as she turned right, just so she could look over and give a friendly smile and wave to this fellow Vette owner. Very nice, and diffferent than most others' responses from female Vette drivers.
First wave I got was from a C4 driver a couple days after I bought mine. I had no idea why he was waving but I waved back anyway. Didn't know about the wave at first.
In addition to my new C-6 now in the garage with less than 400 miles on it, I own a 2005 Harley Davidson E-Glide. Bikers like Corvette owners are fiercely brand loyal. They are also fiercely dedicated to the brotherhood. Very very likely if you are broke down 1,000 miles from home on a bike, another biker is going to help bail you out. I expect the same for Corvette owners. If you see another vette setting on the side of the road with the confused owner under the hood or calling on his c-fone, likely you are going to turn around and see if you can lend a hand. If not, it is very likely you will just enjoy looking at the car and keeping what is likely a distraut owner calm, until the calvary arrives. I would do no less, and expect probably the same. It has happened to me a couple of times on my annual HD road trip. And I expect some time in the future it may happen on my annual Corvette road trip. Until then, I will wave back at every chance. Bikers do it too.
