I hope I'm not breaking any rules but I ran across this site and thought I would share. I don't know why anybody would have a site like this but I found it interesting in a sadistic way. Maybe it will make a better drivers out of some of our younger viewers.

That brought back some bad memories. Here's my '01 on July 14, 2006. A teenager made an illegal turn into the path of my car and, well, it was totaled and I'm still recovering from a shattered right ankle. Last week the doc said I should consider ankle fusion .

Oh man that's awful. What actually broke your ankle? Was it crushed?
I like seeing photos of my car but not on that web site. I was pleased there weren't any Veyron's pictured on their web site. A sobering reminder for us all.

Yes, my ankle was "shattered". It was the talus bone which is the worst possible bone to break in your foot. I also broke the medial mallelous which is the end of the fibula where is sticks out on the inside of your ankle.
Prior to the impact I literally stood on the brake and when I struck the other car the brake pedal pushed back at my ankle. It was not a pretty sight and it hurt like crazy.
Yes, ankle fusion is where the surgeon removes the joint. You ankle is then locked in a permenant 90-degree angle. By doing that they eliminate the arthritis that is causes the pain. No joint, no arthritis. No arthritis, no pain. At least that's the theory.

The one picture stated the owner reached in the backseat causing him to lose control of the vehicle. It flipped multiple times.
Hmm--Vette's don't havea back seat.
Lot of scary picts to say the least - I really feel for the guy that fell asleep and ran into the semi. A lesson for everyone - good post. May save someone's life.
My ankle exploded in a work accident. I am in pain with every step I take. The doctor wanted to fuse mine, there WAS NO guarentee that there would be no pain.
Think several time about it and perhaps another opinion.
Here's mine, my wife was driving 40mph when an old lady in a little SLK Mercedes decided to turn right in front of her. Wrcked and fixed pics. Its almost perfect, still taking care of a couple of small details. Her insurance company paid a little over $15k to fix my car. Totaled the little SLK.

Was anyone injured? From the look of the Mercedes it appears the little old lady could have suffered serious injuries. Your 'after' photo looks great -- congratulations!
