Default If Your O7 Does This...........

If you have an 07 built between 2-8-07
thru 3-15-07 the problem is in the DIC,
and it is on back order.

Test: enter car and start WITHOUT
fastening seat belt, if you hear a "pop" in your
speakers your DIC needs to be replaced. If
you fasten your seat belt and then start car
and do not hear the pop you still need to have
the DIC replaced. They are on National Backorder
and affect about 1200 07 Vettes. This info is
on the A6. I do not know if it pertains to the M6.

Do this test with the radio OFF.

FYI

This will be my first post. I picked up my vette April 10th and it does this. I had not thought anything of it.

What is the source of your information? Also, does this have any more significance other than the annoying sound right when the car starts?

Took it in for the problem.
the dealer could not fix and
called factory tech service.
They confirmed the problem.
I posted the results and I'm
on the back order list. Problem
can affect all DIC info and eventually
make DIC info unoperable. It is
basically a SHORT in the system.

I just checked my DIC and it's fine.

Oops you meant the car, my bad. Sorry, mine was built November 06.

Mine went into production March 26th and is affected. Not a huge help, but it is outside the stated date range.

The dates I posted were from
the tech at the dealership.
That is what the factory rep
printed out. I can not possibly
rule out before or after dates.
I was just submitting to "any" with
this problem, that the factory knew
about it and is being addressed.

THIS WAS SIMPLY FYI FOR ANYONE
WHO MAY BE EXPERIENCEING THIS
PROBLEM.

If you do not have this problem,
we do not need to hear from you,
or your smart --- remarks.

I simply tried to relate a problem
and the "fix "to anyone who was
experiencing this anomoly. I got
smart --- remarks ect. If you
have the problem I stated in my
post, there is a fix. You decide
whether you need it or not.

kathy,

please do not take offense to what you call smart --- remarks. this is a forum and we all have opinions/comments. it wasn't directed at you. i personally found the comment very funny. . a little humor, although strange by some measures, is alway a good thing. would you take my saying: "lighten up" as a smart --- comment?

so, please show me the error of my ways and point out the smart assed remark. Your post indicates that either way you do the test , the DIC needs replacing. or am I reading what you posted incorrectly??

If I wasn't a woman, I might consider
your comments, but some regarding
DIC, where un-called for. There is a
GTO forum for those folks. I take the
info I get here serious, and only try to
impart serious or pertinent info for
folks that could use it.
