The wave is dead. I am not giving up, I still wave and get a 10% return wave. I get a better response from a headlight flash, 50% return. Maybe the wave is being replaced with headlight flashing, much easier to spot when traveling at corvette speeds, I mean the speed limit.

Some people are friendly, and some can't be bothered. I am a friendly person that can't be bothered by those that aren't friendly. 
I wave at Corvettes, and don't expect anything in return. If people think they are too good for the tradition, then fug 'em. More than 90% in my area seem to have enough humility to not look down on the tradition & wave back at me.
