Corvette Next new Body Style.....
Some one asked me the other day, when will you get a new corvette, I began to ponder this question for a while and decided it will be when the corvette shape changes from the current C6 to a new C7 shape……in effect a new body style; the cars I have bought over the years have been the first model year. I know a car may have more defects in the first model year than the second, but I like having a car the first year out cause not many people on the road have them and I believe the resale hold better as the body style is still current with what is on the showroom floor.
So my questions to any one who has an answer is, when do we expect a body style change in the near future??????

GM went 8 years with the C5,13 with the C4,15 with the C3...See any patern? Time with out a body change is getting shorter.I think 2011 would be a good guess,6 years with the C6,but I could be wrong(it wouldn't be the first time).

As far as resale.... Look how long it took the 68's to actually have decent resale ( in general ) due to their QC issues and other problems.
Yes, now that's something that would never happen, but stranger things have happened.
I would agree... 2011 is quite likely... they've been saying the "SS" or whatever you call is will debut alot of the C& technology and underpinnings while retaining the C6 bodylines. SO... that is supposed to be 2010... the next year a new body. Sounds right to me
I've been wrong a few times today, so who knows.

The wild card(s) in all our speculations are:
1. State of the economy (include interest rates and the mood of the population)
2. Gas prices
3. Insurance industry (rates)
4. Environmentalists gaining strength in Congress and other governing bodies
5. State of GM (financially)
But I can agree with a shorter production run with the C6 than any recent vette asuming 1 - 5 above don't crash the party.

If GM hits hard(er) times and I see no reason why they won't, look for more of the same over the next few years, with a few tweaks to the LS3 engine.
